Five girls live in a Paris home for abandoned children, each of them coping with her own painful history. In such an environment, the girls spontaneously form a community within which they try to change the image of themselves as victims and build a new identity of women with hopes for the future. In order to create complex and realistic characters, director Nora El Hourch kept visiting a social rehabilitation center in Paris for a few months. There she spent time with the inmates and got to know their world, their way of communication and their life stories.
Nora El Hourch, Franco-Morrocan director. She has been writing since she was young. After years of schooling, she finally decided to take the plunge. A Few Seconds is her first short film.
