After it took over the management of Europa Cinema in 2008, Zagreb Film Festival also became a film distributer. The first distribution agreements were made because of the lack of independent art house films in local distributers’ line-ups and a need for continuous film program. Connections with international distributers for the festival program made the selection of film for release wide and easy. After six years, ZFF’s catalogue consists of about 60 films, mainly European. All the films have garnered festivals awards and critical acclaim.
