The program will be presented by Emina Ganić at the Zagreb Academy of Dramatic Art on Friday, 24 October at 12:00. Emina Ganić is the founder of Sarajevo Film Academy (SFA), the first private film school in Bosnia-Herzegovina. In 2012, together with the acclaimed filmmaker Béla Tarr, she founded the ambitious film.factory program at the SFA (which is part of the Sarajevo School for Science and Technology).
film.factory program provides young filmmakers with an opportunity to collaborate with the most prominent and best film professionals from all over the world. The film.factory workshops have so far been conducted by: Fred Kelemen, Gus Van Sant, Carlos Reygadas, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Brothers Quay, Pedro Costa, Guy Maddin, Tilda Swinton, Cristian Mungiu and Claire Denis. Many others will join this list.
The academic activities of this interactive platform designed for film production include theoretical approach to film, practical workshops and film development and production. In only one year of its existence, film.factory produced 20 short films and has started the pre-production of its first feature film.
